You’ve no need to ask. Yes, I have stocked up on christmas cake and I’ve started eating it. It’s replaced the (dark) chocolate digestives as my preferred after dinner cup-of-tea accompaniment. What I haven't got round to doing yet, is taking stock of my year. But I’m thinking about it and of course, I'm full of questions:

What happened this year? What went well and not so well?

What influenced my decisions?

Where did I get stuck? What moved me forward?

What do I want to change?

These are not the sort of questions you can seriously answer with a mouthful of christmas cake. Taking some dedicated time to reflect over your year is important for several reasons:

It motivates you to do more of the good and less of the not so good
It allows you to relive and acknowledge your successes
It builds your resiliency
It sets you up for the new year

But, it’s not easy if you find yourself thinking that your year hasn't really moved you forward in the way that you’d hoped. Maybe you’re in a rut, on a treadmill or just too busy to get your head out of the detail. If you’d like a better, more successful 2019 then maybe a few questions might help make it a reality.
