A few months ago, I enjoyed delivering a new talk to the AIA Emerging Professionals network on Building their Powerbase. I based it on the network and relationship-building work that I do with clients. The webinar was well-received, and the feedback inspired me to turn the discussion into a workshop.
Relationships are one of the most valuable currencies that architects have today. Your network or “powerbase” allows you to make things happen, learn about opportunities before others, and gain access to resources and information that others don’t have.
It has been rewarding to hear that the visualisation exercises inspire participants, and they have identified and reached out to people who could help them get where they need to be in their career.
This workshop will help you to:
Create an awareness of what it takes to build strong professional relationships proactively
Look at ways to improve your current Powerbase
Understand how to assess relationships and develop strategies to strengthen and improve them
Kick-start creating your future Powerbase and what needs to shift in you to make this happen.
“As a mid-career woman working in this field, there are spaces and activities that help us to build a little bit of confidence. Yesterday was one occasion!”
